CINCINNATI, OH — Due to the rising level of the Ohio River, the Greater Cincinnati Water Works’ Stormwater Management Utility (SMU) will be installing the flood gate on the western end of Mehring Way on Saturday, April 5, 2025. SMU installed the Carr Street flood gate on Wednesday, April 2. 

The installation of the flood gates will require the temporary closure of Carr Street and Mehring Way. Posted detour signs will direct traffic around the closures.

The Mehring Way road closure will begin at 8 a.m. Saturday. 

Motorists are encouraged to reduce their speed and use caution when approaching this area.
