Proposed Use of TIF Funds for Property Acquisition at 803 Windham Ave in Avondale

 

Background

The Urban League of Greater Southwest Ohio (ULGSWO), in partnership with the Robert Sanders Group, seeks to acquire the property located at 803 Windham Avenue, directly north of the current Urban League headquarters in Avondale. The applicant team is requesting $450,000 from the Avondale tax increment financing (TIF) district to facilitate this purchase. This acquisition will enable ULGSWO to expand its campus and enhance community programs and service delivery.

Proposed Project

The Urban League of Greater Southwest Ohio (ULGSWO) and the Robert Sanders Group propose the acquisition of the building located at 803 Windham Avenue. Currently a mixed-use property, the building will be repurposed to expand ULGSWO's headquarters and community programs. The 10,000-square-foot building will house community programs and expand the Urban League’s reach. ULGSWO requests $450,000 from the Avondale Tax Increment Financing (TIF) district to facilitate this project and pay for the relocation costs of the current tenants. The project has received letters of support from the Avondale Community Council and the Avondale Development Corporation.
